Overview

Shaktidhaam Temple Facility in Wangara was constructed to cater for the religious needs of the wider Perth Hindu Community. The facility includes a dedicated Hindu Temple and modern facilities including a well-equipped commercial kitchen, community function & dining hall, and performance stage to promote cultural activities. A self-contained apartment unit located on the 1st floor level accommodates for the in-house priest.

Prominent features

The jewel piece of the Facility is the purpose built Temple. The imposing prefabricated roof top Samram & Shikhar (domes) are completed by the ornate decorative wall moulding surrounding the perimeter of the building.

Custom fibre glass column surrounds decorating the structures steel columns completes the visual effect of the religious Temple.

Welcoming the community at the entrance is a striking water fountain display with the God of Wisdom being a centre piece.

Project Challenges

The purpose of the project was to promote the religion, therefore extensive planning has taken place during design development and construction with regards to setting up the temple in accordance with the rules and beliefs of the religion and ultimately in preparing for the opening.

Careful coordination was required to allow delivery and installation of numerous fine details, and some materials and parts which were sourced directly from India. Maintaining an open communication line with client in order to fulfil his vision and expectations for this temple was also key to successfully deliver the project on time.
